again through comprehensive treatment. As an Early Recovery
Specialist, you handle a caseload of newly admitted patients and
conducts counseling services. In your role, you will collaborate
with patients to ensure their basic needs are adequately addressed
and facilitate the coordination of care within the community.
Additionally, you will conduct intakes and necessary assessments
within the specified timelines as mandated by federal and state
regulations, CARF guidelines, and Pinnacle policies and procedures.
Pay Range: $22 to $25 $25 to $28 (Certified) $28 to $31 (Licensed)

through Capella University Requirements: Possess an associate
degree in a relevant field or a majority of approved counselor
certification courses, license, or certification necessary to
provide counseling services to our patient population. Kern County
requires bachelor's degree or 75% of required counselor
certification courses). Must have 2-5 years of experience. Maintain
compliance with the requirements for continuing education hours
and/or units (CEH or CEU) as determined by the Department of
Alcohol and Drug Programs and/or other regulatory agencies. Possess
knowledge, skills, and abilities as it relates to: The evaluation
of patients, treatment planning, and counseling services. The use,
abuse and treatment of illicit drugs and addiction. Organization
and time management. Communication skills both written and verbal.
Professional demeanor and customer service practices. Competence
with Microsoft computer programs. Complete initial training as a
counselor trainee Possess counselor registration/certification by a
“Certifying Organization: recognized by the Department of Alcohol
and Drug Programs. Proof of registration is required immediately
once employed with a California Alcohol any counseling services per
the DHCS (Department of Health Care Services). Qualifications and
the review of support documentation will be evaluated for approval.

to providing any Responsibilities: Manage caseload of all new
admitted patients and provide individual counseling services and
group counseling services when appropriate. Maintain appropriate
professional, therapeutic, and ethical boundaries with patients.
Conduct intakes, including discharge plans, initial Needs
Assessments, and Initial Treatment Plans within the timelines as
required by applicable federal and state regulation, CARF
guidelines and Aegis Policies. Provide patients with a sense of
entitlement to their own recovery by involving them in their own
assessment, evaluation, and treatment planning. Conduct daily
follow-ups with newly admitted patients via face-to-face or
telephonic interactions as clinically appropriate. Monitor and
document any patient circumstance that may affect her or his
recovery, to identify and address potential relapse as soon as
possible. Provide case management to coordinate care with external
providers. In addition to attending weekly cased conferences,
participate in weekly meetings with clinic management to discuss
patient progress. Comply with, implement, the Clinical Risk
Management policies, which evaluate patients for any high-risk
conditions. Provide a positive team approach for problem solving
and evaluating challenging clinical situations. Review patient’s
records and other documentation for accuracy, completion, and
compliance with regulations and internal Policies Protocols, and
Procedures using the recommended compliance, evaluation tools.

counseling for patients who have missed regularly scheduled
counseling appointments as needed and appropriate. Maintain
competence by attending necessary training and receiving feedback
pertinent to the Early Recovery Specialist position. Attend team
meetings and complete all training courses timely as required.
