Technician / Technologist Location: Newport Beach, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,020 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 10 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Certified Home Health/Hospice Aide Profession: Home Health/Hospice Aide Specialty: - Duration: 10 weeks initially Shift: 7am - 3:30pm Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required not specified License: Certified Home Health Aide certification in the State of California, in good standing. Certifications: Current BLS certification Must-Have: Registration on the Home Care Aide Registry through the Department of Social Services, Home Care Services Bureau, in good standing. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured and in good working order. Description: The Certified Home Health/Hospice Aide (CHHA) is a paraprofessional member of the home care/hospice team. The CHHA works under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist. The CHHA performs and assists patients with various personal care services necessary to meet patient needs and promote comfort. The CHHA is responsible for observing patients and reporting observations. Documentation of observations and care performed is essential. The CHHA will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity, and safety of care. The CHHA will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing. The CHHA will not administer medications, take physician's orders, or perform procedures requiring the training and skill of a nurse. Local travel may be required to patient homes. The position may extend or convert based on patient needs and performance. Skills required for this role include: Demonstrating the ability to work with a diverse group of people. Maintaining knowledge of technology, tools, equipment, and other devices relevant to patient care. Following all policies and procedures to minimize the risk of spreading infections. Showing energy, aptitude, and motivation in activities relating to personal and work objectives. Establishing effective working relationships and demonstrating sensitivity and tact in interactions. Exhibiting full knowledge and understanding of concepts and procedures needed for success in the role. Communicating effectively in both oral and written formats. Demonstrating support and empathy to patients and families in a non-judgmental manner. Embracing principles of patient safety and showing respect toward patients. The CHHA should provide a calm manner when in a patient’s home. An understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort in providing specialized care to the terminally ill is essential.
